After School 3:15 PM – 6:30 PM (We are available until 6:30 PM, but students are not required to stay that late
Dedicated students can participate in their choice of classes in drama, dance, martial arts, music and visual arts. Students are given performance and exhibition opportunities throughout the year. Weekly classes are interspersed with recreation and homework tutoring. Classes are taught by professionals experienced in their artistic fields as well as child development. Students will also benefit from guest artist workshops and showcases of their accomplishments. The S.T.A.R. program is committed to teaching real artistic skill in a fun, non-competitive environment, nurturing individual creativity and engaging the student in balanced after school activities.
Session I runs August to December and Session II runs January to June This covers the complete school year.

Dance
The dance portion of our program consists of classes in ballet, tap, jazz, and musical theatre. Students will receive a basic introduction to these disciplines and the opportunity to perform at the end of the school year. Focus is on learning proper technique, terminology and dance class protocol while enjoying the movement of dancing.
Art
Students enrolled in the art classes will enjoy learning basic art techniques in sketching, watercolor painting, sculpting and mixed media while also experiencing the freedom to create and the opportunity to use the proper tools.
Acting
Acting classes consist of learning the fundamentals of the art of theatre and well as on camera and radio. Students participate in warm up games, improve, scene and character studies and learn the history and terminology that is unique to acting. Students enjoy an opportunity to participate in a production at the end of the school year.
Music
Our music classes involve learning and participating in group singing as well as learning the basics of music such as time signatures, notes, sight-reading and vocal techniques. Music students also enjoy a music appreciation portion where they are introduced to various instruments and music styles.
Games
Recreation is an important part of the program and students learn and participate in several indoor and outdoor games consisting of agility, strategy, and cooperation.
Kung Fu
Students participating in the kung fu class will be practicing traditional sil lum pai hung gar kung fu. Practicing these stances, basic kicking sticking ad blocking, self defense and forms will increase confidence, strength, and discipline.
Homework Tutoring
Students are given time before and after their daily classes to focus on homework or quiet study. Teachers are available to help the students with questions that arise and encourage a job well done.
